This combination of stones can help anyone in their meditative practices, but also makes an excellent gift to your self or someone you love with its gorgeous stones and beautiful details and accents.... I stayed true to the ancient practices in making this necklace, from the proper number of beads, to the hand knotting method.Whether you want a necklace for meditation, another way to wear your crystals, or you just like the style I have to say I am guilty of all three my self. Sometimes I really just need an extra layer of support and protection and other times I just want a cute piece of jewelry that secretly does double duty. This necklace is approximately 26" from the bottom of the tassel to the top bead and has an "opening" of 22". Long enough to wear in a traditional fashion draped and worn long, wrapped once around the neck for a layered look and can also be wrapped around your wrist and worn as a bracelet... The traditional length on the Mala necklace can be quite long, this particular piece sits at just above my navel but I love the long look of it and admittedly enjoy fidgeting with the long beads and tassel.

All Malas in my collection are kept as true to practice as I can, they feature 108 beads, one Guru bead and a tassel. While the personal or spiritual connections to the number 108 may be different for everyone, some believe that 108 is a sacred number with ONE representing the universe and your higher truth, ZERO representing humility in your spiritual practice, and EIGHT representing the timelessness or infinity. Two knots just before the guru bead are to represent the feminine and masculine energies combining within you. The tassels significance is to represent the lotus flower that emerges out of the mud to be a beautiful and is meant to mirror your transformation.

Origins vary from stone to stone with a majority of crystals coming from Brazil, Madagascar, Russia, Australia, and South Africa. Your genuine crystal will be cleansed and charged so you can use it right away.
